Saturday

Jens Lekman

Another musical portrait of mine, which can also be seen here. Watch and listen to him sing in a lovely way.

Book sale finds

I've read it before but I will read it again.

Ramona Falls

One of my favorite songs of the year and a beautiful video.

Thursday

Dali and Harpo

This is my favorite photograph of all days of time. Salvador Dali and Harpo Marx. They were quite fond of each other, and Dali gave Harpo a harp made of barbed wire strings and spoon tuning knobs, wrapped in cellophane. What a wonderful gift. They are wonderful. Harpo is my favorite Marx Brother. And Salvador Dali is my favorite Salvador Dali.

Sunday

Amphigorey Again

The one I'm missing. I have Amphigorey, Amphigorey Too and Amphigorey Also. Edward Gorey's books will always be on my wish list.

Friday

Marc Jacobs

The collection that will forever inspire the colors, textures and shapes of my wardrobe (Fall 2006). Gorgeousness, in my eyes. Fall is the best season for clothes.

Yeasayer

Chris of Yeasayer. Their sophomore album comes out in February, and it's called Odd Blood. More information will soon be posted on the Art Rock blog here.

Wednesday

It was Mel Brooks who said...

Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you walk into an open sewer and die.

Tuesday

Proenza Schouler

Spring/Summer 2007. Although I did like their most recent collection, I am not a fan of colorful palettes, so the new clothes were not ones I would wear. The collection below, however, continues to be a collection that inspires my style. What I wouldn't do to get one of those straw hats. Sooo gorgeous. And that collared dress? Oh my gosh. Just wonderful.

Friday

The Thermals

Rock.

Side Effects

And a special bookmark.

Bon Iver

I'm swooning all over the place right now. Boy oh boy, Justin's so wonderful.

Thursday

Kyp Malone

A new ACRN Art Rock post here.

Sunset Rubdown

"Idiot Heart": the song I can't stop dancing to. I love Spencer's quaky voice.

Dostoevsky

I really, really like him.

Crime and Punishment is a monument in my life.

The Walkmen

One of my favorites. I played this song on ACRN on Saturday. I want them to play my basement, maybe for my brother's graduation party. Think about it, Walkmen.

Wednesday

Thao and the Get Down Stay Down

Very excited about this one: Know Better Learn Faster. Thao is fabulous. Her previous album, We Brave Bee Stings and All, was definitely on my best of 2008 list.

Watch her give a Tiny Desk Concert here.
